Herminio took his first steps in dance in Havana, where he was born, while studying law.
In 1991, he won 1st prize at the Varadero Sound and Salsa Festival.
In 1996, he became a member of the Hermanos Santos dance company in Cuba and won 2nd prize in the Cabaret Tropical Habanera competition. On this occasion, he took part as a salsero in 3 Cuban television programmes.
In 1997, he won 3rd prize in the Cabaret Tropical Habanera competition and 2nd prize in the Cuban Salsa Festival.
The following year, he joined Tony Menendez's dance company and won 1st prize in the national ‘Cuba Disco’ competition.
He took part in the best music video programme for Lajito y su Sonora in 1999.
He graduated in Law from the University of Havana in 1996 and arrived in France in April 2000.
Since then, HERMINIO ‘el salsero cubano’ has become a well-known and respected teacher in Paris, with a wealth of experience in teaching salsa.
He has worked for well-known companies in Paris such as Edf, Thales, Jacobs Serete, La Caisse des Dépôt et Consignations, La Banque de France, France Telecom and Cemagref, as well as for the Gymnasium, Forest Hill, Aquaboulevard, Club Med and various dance schools, and has already trained over 2,000 students in the Paris region!

Herminio met his partner, Carole, in 2003 at Opus Latino.
Carole was his student at the time. She quickly discovered his passion for Latin rhythms. Since then, they've been taking classes together, and are inseparable on the dance floor and in the city!
