Afro-Brazilian dance

Précédent Suivant

More information

The origins, essence and language of Afro-Brazilian dance are rich in multiple influences. Their history is closely linked to that of the African peoples deported to Brazil, who brought with them their dance and their spirituality as their only baggage.

These African roots, combining divinities, gestures and rhythms with Indian and European contributions, gave rise to a popular, warm and lively culture, of which Afro-Brazilian dance is one of the most original expressions.

Today, these dances continue to evolve, adapting to new musical and artistic influences while remaining true to their roots. They are a celebration of life, creativity and resilience.

In rhythm and harmony, Afro-Brazilian dances forge links between heaven and earth and take you on a journey to the heart of Brazil, without the jet lag!
